Staying warm in the wintertime is important for comfort and health.
Here are some tips for keeping your home warm: Insulate your home: Insulation helps to keep the heat inside your home.
Make sure your home is properly insulated, especially in areas like the roof, walls, and windows. Seal windows and doors: Check for air leaks around windows and doors and seal them with caulk or weather stripping to prevent cold air from entering your home. Use curtains: Heavy curtains or drapes can help to retain heat inside your home. Another way to keep warm at home is heating from either central HVAC systems or from portable units. We prefer to keep the home a bit cooler during the night when we are sleeping so that we avoid high power bills. Using a fireplace to heat the home is a good method for keeping warm, but if you don’t have wood at your disposal then it may be difficult and you may need to run your electric furnace or gas heater. Ideally, keep the temp in the home under 74F to avoid monstrous energy bills and try to wear more clothing during the winter when in the home. Some people prefer to use heated floors to keep their feet warm, but also wearing thick wool socks will help keep your feet warm while saving you money. Regardless of how you heat your home or stay warm during the winter, always be aware of the temp in the home and keep the smart thermostat set to 74F or less to keep the bills to a minimum. Good luck!
