Smart thermostat is helpful while sick

I don’t normally get sick, but when I do, I fall extremely ill and I’m out of commission for weeks on end.

This has been the case for the past three weeks or so, while I’ve been battling a strange sinus infection/flu mutant and suffering silently in isolation.

It started, as usual, after a long car ride with abundant air conditioning for the duration of the trip. As always, this gave me a sinus infection that began with a mild tickle in the back of my throat, and soon worked its way into a debilitating sinus headache along with 100% congestion of both nostrils. I was suffering pitifully already, when the hot and cold flashes started up. Suddenly, it felt like I had a full blown viral infection causing a nasty flu, and I varied between feeling like I lived in a furnace and an arctic tundra, depending on the moment. Because my internal temperature varied all the time, I was continually wanting to adjust the indoor air temperature to help compensate for my discomfort. Let me tell you, I’ve never been so happy to have a smart thermostat before that moment; using the handy thermostat app installed on my phone I was able to adjust the air temperature with the click of a button without having to get up out of bed. I could continue to lay in isolated misery, coughing up a storm, and still set the air temperature to any degree I desired. I know it didn’t directly help me to recover any faster, but the convenience certainly helped my moral.
