I love my in-laws, & it’s such a relief that my buddy and I get along well.
I undoubtedly wasn’t sure what my buddy and I were going to think of each other because they come from a much wealthier locale than I do, & I was afraid they would look down on my upbringing, but however, I’ve been delightfully surprised to find that my buddy and I get along swimmingly, & have no trouble carrying conversation between the three of us.
Still, it is amazing for me to be around all their overpriced belongings in their beautiful house; Recently they even built themselves a costly wine cooler, requiring all sorts of Heating & A/C installations & rewiring to make the addition come to life. They were telling me that the room needed to be kept at least ten degrees lower than the rest of the house, so it required the addition of a special A/C unit to repair only the single room. Because they live in Florida, they cannot have a basement, which would be the natural solution for keeping the wine at a lower temperature, so the a/c was the only option. They also needed to have a separate temperature control unit to set this space at a single consistent temperature, along with numerous monitoring devices to ensure there were no temperature swings. The temp monitors are spaced throughout the room so that every bottle is kept under the same highly regulated air conditions. I don’t relate to the money my in-laws have, although I undoubtedly care about their dedication to doing projects correctly & their attention to detail.
