I have more financial freedom to embark on trips or purchase things that truly bring me happiness by regularly saving money here and there. That’s how I ended up scavenging a new AC unit for next to nothing, and getting an extra surprise along with the equipment. You see, I was on the market for a new air conditioner to help supplement my central cooling unit at home. Our home’s HVAC unit worked well, but didn’t deliver enough cold air to the top floor of the house, so I wanted to install a smaller AC in order to service our bedroom at night. I found an AC window unit listed for free on craigslist, and drove out to scoop it up immediately. Upon getting it home, I was overjoyed to find that the air conditioner fit perfectly in our window and was easily installed within moments. Turning on the HVAC component, however, it was obvious that something wasn’t working right. The machine made some strange humming and buzzing sounds, and only a tiny amount of cool air wafted out of the air vents. We opened up the front AC panel to find the issue; and were immediately greeted by the tiny face of a baby squirrel.
