Christmas food delivering to poor neighborhoods going into homes with no heat

Since the portable electric furnace only covers about 30 square feet of one’s home we decided to purchase another one so it could cover more surface area in his home

Every Christmas my family and I like to give back during the holiday season. We are blessed and fortunate to have a roof over our heads, and have a nice hot meal every day. However about twenty minutes away from where we live there is a community in our city that is not as fortunate. You can find people who can’t afford food, clothes and even heat during the coldest of days. Therefore every Christmas time during the winter we will deliver non-perishable foods to a family who is in need. We receive a list from our church and the families from our church sign up and pick a family to give non-perishable goods or services too. Well the one family that we chose this year we bought at least three months worth of goods. When we showed up they invited us in so we could drop off the boxes of food. When we walked inside the air smelt musty and very cold. You could tell that there was no HVAC system. The owner made a comment that he apologized for how cold his home was but he did not have a furnace. We told the owner that we had an electric portable furnace that he could keep. He was very delighted and overjoyed about the items we gave him. Since the portable electric furnace only covers about 30 square feet of one’s home we decided to purchase another one so it could cover more surface area in his home. My family and I believe that no one should go without heat during the winter time. So we decided that we were going to raise money so the owner could purchase a new HVAC system.
