I am so tired of my phone going off.
I remember many years ago when cell phones first emerged in our modern way of life and I was excited to receive phone calls and text messages all day.
It was always entertaining to text with my friends and to exchange conversations with my closest associates. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve grown to absolutely hate my cell phone. I feel like I can never escape from people and obligations. Recently, it’s my co-workers who are driving me up the wall. Many years ago I made the mistake of taking over responsibility for the indoor air handling devices in the office. Back then, we had a brand new central heating and cooling system and a programmable thermostat. It was no big deal to manage the routine heating and cooling repair appointments and to change the thermostat settings depending on the season. Today, things are a lot more complicated with that air handling device. The problem is, I’m not working from the office but my coworkers are. This means, they’re constantly trying to get in touch with me about indoor air handling control matters. Mostly, they want to complain about the indoor air temperature settings day in and day out. One co-worker tells me it’s too hot and the next is complaining that it’s too cold. I have been trying to adjust the thermostat remotely, but I keep losing my connection to this smart temperature control device. Besides that, I hate to tell them that the entire HVAC system is long overdue for a professional cleaning. They probably shouldn’t be breathing that indoor air at all.
