There are many struggles and joys when it comes to being an HVAC technician.
- I will first go over the struggles.
If you are wishing to go into the HVAC technician occupation, take these struggles into consideration. First, being an HVAC technician is demanding both physically, mentally, and socially. It is physically demanding because often you have to unload large HVAC units like central air conditioners, gas furnaces parts, hot water boilers, and heating and cooling equipment. This can be very hard especially when you are exhausted. It is mentally hard because many HVAC customers demand you do a quick and good job when installing their large HVAC units like furnaces and central air conditioning, but they don’t realize the time it takes to install an HVAC unit. Many times customers will get frustrated and demand that they get a discount because they say it took the HVAC technician too long to install the a/c unit, even if the a/c unit was installed perfectly. Many times HVAC technicians will feel bad or get discouraged because customers treat them like trash. Being a heating and cooling expert can also be demanding socially. It takes good social skills to be a good HVAC technician since they have to talk to many different types of people. Many HVAC technicians first learn social skills while working in a heating and cooling business or at a furnace and air conditioner warehouse. Manh of times customers are not good at communicating, and it can drain an HVAC technician socially. These are all the struggles of being an HVAC technician.
